Once Ashford disposes of this asset, each investor receives back his entire capital contribution (including both management fees and acquisition costs), followed by our agreed upon preferred rate of return. Since our purchases typically take place at a substantial discount to typical market value, downside risk is significantly smaller than the risk typically associated with stocks, bonds, or other equity investments.
